Everything about Andrea and Brads elopement in the Redwood Forest of Northern California just seemed to flow. This day was relaxed, adventurous, full of love, and it never felt like there was an issue or conflict, it just flowed beautifully.

Northern California is one of my favorite corners of this earth. It’s an entirely different vibe than the rest of California and everything about it feels like it’s been sprinkled with a little extra magic. From the solitude, to the ancient Redwoods, to the rocky shore line and little coastal towns, you almost feel like you’re step back in time to a really peaceful place. And honestly, that is an incredible thing to experience on the day you get married.

Andrea and Brad stayed in an amazing airbnb that sat right on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Complete with a wall of windows, deck spanning the entire length of the house, and best of all, a hot tub! They had a slow morning in their airbnb, enjoying their coffee, the views, and the relaxing feels that Northern California gives. I met up with them late morning as they got ready, capturing the details and beginning moments of their elopement day.

Once they were ready, we headed up the road to their ceremony spot. A beautiful trail full of Redwoods that have been there for thousands of years. We hiked along the trail, with this massive forest towering above us, and they picked out the spot that felt right for them. They had a perfect ceremony, we signed their marriage license to make things official, and continued to stroll around the redwood forest for some photos.

On our way to our next stop, we took a road that looked a bit less traveled but had signs for a picnic area. After driving through a vibrant green moss canopy, we arrived at a little picnic area where they enjoy some snacks and tried to throw grapes into each others mouths, because thats what you do when you have grapes!

After their picnic, we continued up the coast to one of my favorite little trails. It’s a crazy road to get there, but once you make it through that adventure, you’re surrounded by thousands and thousands of ferns! Draping rock walls, all shiny and dew filled. It’s a MAGICAL place. We hiked through, admiring the incredible scenes surrounding us and taking some photos. What an amazing thing first activity to do as a married couple, am I right!?

We finished the day off watching the sun set over the Pacific Ocean. With Redwoods and their elopement behind us, they played in the water and watched the sky light up in all sorts of colors. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day, where everything just seemed to be in alignment and flow effortlessly. That’s what I love so much about elopements.
