Joshua Tree Anniversary Portraits | Joshua Tree Photographer

Gabi & Jeremy’s Joshua Tree Anniversary Portraits were a beautiful celebration of their years together. And as always, it was such a privilege to work as a Joshua Tree Photographer for a day.

When Gabi found out that her & Jeremy would be stationed at Twentynine Palms, a US airbase in California, for a few years, she knew there was one thing they absolutely had to do – Joshua Tree Anniversary Portraits. They’ve been married for a couple of years, so this shoot was a chance to have some fun and document this time in their lives and the unique scenery they’re surrounded by.

Joshua Tree is known the world over for its unique scenery, especially for the trees it’s named after. Located in California, it’s also amazing to visit all year round – although perhaps a bit hot in the summer! For this reason, and because they were living nearby, Gabi & Jeremy weren’t in a rush to plan their session. They were happy to wait until I’d be in the area for an elopement or for another shoot to do their Joshua Tree Anniversary Portraits. As it turns out, the perfect time to shoot was March 2021, and they were my first shoot of the year! I stopped in Joshua Tree on my way to Hawaii, flying in in the morning, shooting in the afternoon and then heading to Hawaii for a beautiful elopement the next day. Between Gabi & Jeremy’s super fun personalities, the beautiful sunset light, and the incredible scenery, it was an amazing way to kick off my 2021 season.

Joshua Tree Anniversary Session

Anniversary sessions are a beautiful chance to reconnect, have some fun and reflect on your time together – which is exactly what Gabi & Jeremy did! They had so much fun exploring and adventuring together, and I really believe the beautiful natural backdrop helps to inspire that free, joyful spirit. Whenever you visit a national park, you go with the idea of exploring and adventuring, which is often so liberating. It makes it easier to dance, run & move, and joke around with your partner. At the same time, so many of America’s national parks are genuinely awe-inspiring, creating a beautiful backdrop for intimate moments. Gabi & Jeremy’s anniversary session is a perfect example of this, and it was such a pleasure to be their Joshua Tree Photographer.

How to Plan Your Joshua Tree Portrait Session

Like most National Parks, it’s best to plan in advance for your portrait session at Joshua Tree. This is because the National Park Service requires Special Use permits for wedding & portrait photography within the park and has designated trails for photo shoots. Luckily, a good Joshua Tree Photographer will be able to help you out with the permit process and recommending the best spots for your shoot.

I’d love to be your very own Joshua Tree Photographer and help you plan an amazing adventure session or elopement. Just get in touch now to start planning!
