Adventure Engagement Photos on the Coast of Acadia National Park | Bar Harbor Maine Wedding Photographer | Acadia National Park Elopement Photographer
I visited Acadia National Park for the second time a few weeks back and quickly fell back in love with the stunning landscape and coastal views Mt. Desert Island holds. I wanted to shoot an engagement session SO bad, and luckily I found Cam and Krista who needed a photographer because they got engaged two days before at sunrise on Cadillac Mountain. Perfect.
We met up at Otter Cliffs and made our way along Park Loop Road exploring some of my favorite nooks and crannies of Acadia. The colors in this park are so magical, with the ocean blues striking up against the deep brown stones and vibrant green pine trees. We had the most beautiful sunset as we strolled along pebble beaches and made our way to our finishing point of Cadillac Mountain.
Once we got to the entrance of Cadillac, we discovered that they closed the road because of the number of people going up there for sunset and lack of parking. MAJOR BUMMER. Instead we watched the sunset from below, got yelled at by a park ranger for parking on the road (where everyone else was parked too so don’t blame me) and then finally made our way up the mountain once the sun dropped, people left, and we still had the littlest glimmer of light.
Acadia is such an underrated National Park that I HIGHLY recommend going to explore, and makes the perfect destination for an engagement session, elopement or wedding. Whether you’re after vast ocean scenes, mountain tops, sandy beaches, pebble beaches, cozy forests, cute towns, or just a whole heck of a lotta lobster, you gotta go! But for now, enjoy these engagement photos!
Acadia National Park is one of my favorite places to shoot, and even more importantly, one of my favorite places to just be.
