Not long after their beautiful summer wedding, Maria & Rhiannon decided to pack their bags in search of a slower pace of life. It was a dream they’d both held for a long time, and they decided this was their moment. This beautiful couple moved to a small town, not far from Acadia National Park. To celebrate the move, and document this amazing time, they booked some Maine Adventure Portraits in the fall months. Not only was it a wonderful moment for Maria & Rhiannon to pause and mark this momentous change, but I expect it was a happy little respite from painting their new house, a job they began the same week as their Couples Photos in Acadia National Park!

Acadia National Park is an incredible location for Couples Photos – and I’m not just saying that! Like all of America’s epic national parks, Acadia offers breathtaking scenery. What makes it special though is that you can experience a little bit of everything – the rugged Atlantic coastline, beautiful greenery, and the calm of Jordan Pond.
For Maria & Rhiannon’s Maine Adventure Portraits, we planned a sunrise shoot to make the most of the soft morning light. We met at the trailhead before the sun rose and hiked up the mountain. Acadia treated us to the most amazing cloud inversion and a really vibrant sunrise, making the early morning beyond worth it. We then headed over to Sand Beach to do another trail that gifted us with more amazing views.

Maine Adventure Portraits
It can be easy to assume you need a special reason to book in a portrait session – an anniversary or an engagement. I think instead we should be asking ourselves what reason isn’t there for celebrating your love with beautiful photos? Life moves by quickly, and documenting the everyday moments is truly one of the best gifts you can give to your future self.
For Rhiannon and Maria, their Maine Adventure Portraits were a chance for them to remember this beautiful time setting out on a new adventure. Plus, they knew they’d be wanting some beautiful photos of happy memories to hang on their freshly painted walls! Their Acadia National Park session was a gorgeous, calm moment to reflect and enjoy, and it’s something I’d encourage you to consider planning for yourself as well! There’s nothing to lose, and everything to gain – a few beautiful, intentional hours in nature, celebrating life with the one you love.
