Sweet Pea’s Micro Wedding in Bar Harbor
This two day wedding in Acadia National Park was the best of all the worlds! After a magical first day spent entirely focused on each other (see that blog post here!!) Rachel and Armie were ready for day two, and to celebrate with the people who matter most to them. Day two of their Acadia micro wedding was all about family, friends, and embracing whatever the day had in store—which, in this case, included a little classic coastal Maine weather, and the best pizza in Bar Harbor, at Sweet Peas!
Getting Ready: Bar Harbor Airbnb
The day began again Rachel and Armie’s stunning Airbnb right in downtown Bar Harbor. This time, their quiet morning was shared with their loved ones. I met them there to capture the final getting-ready moments before we all headed into the park together. The energy was calm, joyful, and so much excitement for the day ahead!
Even though the skies were gray and the weather wasn’t what most couples dream of for their wedding day, Rachel and Armie were unfazed. If anything, it made the day feel even more grounded and memorable. Who doesn’t feel cozy on a rainy day!
Group Photos at Otter Point
With about 45 guests traveling in for their wedding weekend, Rachel and Armie had more loved ones than could fit at their official ceremony site, which had a 20-person permit limit. So, before heading to the ceremony, the guests who wouldn’t be joining them for their ceremony, all gathered at Otter Point for group photos with our bride and groom! The views were misty and beautiful, and everyone brought so much warmth and love to the space.
Micro Wedding at Little Hunters Beach
From there, we made our way to Little Hunters Beach, where Rachel and Armie had envisioned getting married. It’s one of the most unique ceremony spots in the park, with its dramatic rock beach and tucked-away feel, and they knew it was the place from the start.
Only their closest family joined us there, keeping within the permit guidelines. We nestled in the forest, trying to stay dry from the rain. Their friends officiated a beautiful ceremony, reading heartfelt words as everyone gathered under umbrellas and the cover of the trees. It was raw, emotional, and incredibly personal—proof that rain can’t dampen a meaningful ceremony when hearts are fully in it!!
After the ceremony, we captured a few family portraits on-site before heading to the next chapter of the day: the party!
Reception + Pizza at Sweet Peas
Rachel and Armie hosted their reception at Sweet Peas, a charming restaurant/venue just outside the park that's perfect for intimate gatherings. It strikes the perfect balance between rustic and elegant, with plenty of space for mingling and celebration.
Guests were already gathered, ready to welcome the newlyweds. Cocktail hour took place on the patio with warm drinks and happy chatter, while dinner was served under a big white tent set up in the field. The tent glowed with soft string lights, creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere despite the drizzle.
Dinner was wood-fired pizza made with locally grown produce— Sweet Pea’s specialty! It was delicious, unfussy, and perfectly in line with the relaxed, nature-centered vibe of their weekend. After some emotional and heartfelt toasts, Rachel and Armie shared their first dances, mingled with guests, and wrapped up the evening with a cheesecake bar that had everyone going back for seconds.
Bar Harbor Micro Wedding
From the thoughtful way they included every guest, to their flexibility with weather, to the way they carved out time for both private and shared moments — Rachel and Armie’s two-day micro wedding in Acadia was everything a celebration should be: genuine, joyful, and deeply rooted in what matters most.
Their story is such a beautiful reminder that micro weddings and elopements can be both adventurous and community-focused—that you can have time to soak each other in and celebrate with the people who love you!
