It’s finally here! This epic destination wedding at Sandals La Toc was all things tropical, intentional, intimate and unforgettably fun. Kelly and Eddie got married on St. Lucia island in the Caribbean and I was lucky enough to tag along and document it all for them!

Kelly first reached out to me back in January after seeing my work on a Facebook thread. They were getting married in April at the Sandals La Toc resort but weren’t crazy about the resort photographer, and photography was really important to them. We hopped on a phone call the day after she inquired and after chatting with her for a few minutes and learning about her and Eddie, I knew they were my people.

These two have dated for years. They got engaged in the Blue Mountains of Vermont when they were there for a beer festival (yep - my people), and after Eddie got on one knee, their friends and family emerged to celebrate along side of them. Their mountain engagement was part of the reason that they chose St. Lucia - because they wanted to include a mountain element! They currently live in New Jersey, with their 6 cat fur babies (Kelly is a cat whisperer), and Eddie works for Wayfair while Kelly is recently starting on some personal projects with the hopes of encouraging women to be their best selves from the inside out.

Alright. So the wedding. I arrived to St. Lucia on the Thursday before their Saturday wedding, which was awesome because it meant I got to spend that night and the entire next day hanging out with Kelly and Eddie, and the 20+ guests that flew to the island to celebrate with them! We hung by the pool, by the beach, tasted all the foo foo drinks the resort had to offer, and by the end of the day Friday, I felt like I was apart of the fam!

Wedding day rolled around and I got to work with the most epic “dream team” being obviously Kelly and Eddie, my bomb second shooter Christie Heimbach, and the raddest videographer, Josh Nagel. We had complete creative freedom, and the day was just magical. After they were both ready, we drove to a second Sandals resort on the island and did their first look in an over the water chapel. It was a beautiful spot for Kelly and Eddie to see each other for the first time on their wedding day, and tears were shed by most of us ;) CAN'T HELP IT!

We shot some quick portraits of the two of them before heading back to La Toc to set up for the ceremony. They had a beautiful ceremony, read their own vows, and did a sand ceremony - perfect for a beach wedding! Shortly after their ceremony, and a few family formals + portraits, their cocktail hour began and the sun surprised them with the most PERFECT sunset. Hello golden hour! The cherry on top was the steel drum band they had playing - SO COOL!

RECEPTION! This was one of the most fun receptions I’ve shot - and there were only 20 guests, ha! Everyone was on the dance floor dancing with Kelly and Eddie, including the resort staff, and the DJ sure knew what he was doing! The night ended with Kelly’s brother and his wife, Colleen, wanting to jump in the pool and the bride and groom following suit! Girlfriend had to get the best shot so scroll to the bottom to see how it ended ;)

We finished off the weekend with a day after session the next day, which you can see at the bottom of this post!

Kelly, Eddie and all of their friends and family - thank you so much for inviting me along this epic adventure to document your greatest adventure yet. I’m truly so excited to watch your relationship blossom, and to watch the two of you follow your dreams! Let’s do it again next year?
